One of the worst problems our customers face is the inevitable hard drive failure. Most customers have backup solutions in place, but some don’t.
Perry Connections has several methods for recovering data from your failed hard drive. Most can be fixed in the shop, but some require the use of our world class partners, Drive Savers and Gillware.
Most users have pictures, emails, music, or other media on their computer. If it is important, back it up regularly.
To improve your chance of data recovery, please take the following steps:
- If you suspect you have a hard drive problem, stop using your computer immediately. Bring it in for a repair, data recovery, or hard drive replacement. These problems get much worse very quickly.
- Don’t use the system recovery disk if you think your hard drive is failing. It will reduce if not eliminate the chances of recovery of your data.
- Bring your computer in for a thorough checkout. If your drive is failing we can tell and usually recover most if not all of the data. You might only get one shot at repairing your hard drive so it’s best to bring it in before it is to late.
